Thomas J. Beedem

Thomas J. Beedem is the founder of Beedem Law in Minneapolis and represents disabled individuals and injury victims in long-term disability, ERISA, workers’ compensation, and personal injury matters. He founded the firm in 1996 and has spent much of his career handling disability claims and related litigation. A significant part of his practice involves private disability and ERISA disability cases, including initial applications, administrative appeals, and lawsuits in state or federal court when benefits remain disputed.

Thomas earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1988 and his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1985, where he studied in the Program of Liberal Studies. He was admitted in Minnesota in 1988 and to the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota in 1989. His legal education and litigation experience support careful review of medical evidence, insurance plan terms, administrative records, deadlines, and procedural rules governing disability and injury claims.

Thomas has represented clients in complex personal injury, workers’ compensation, and disability matters throughout Minnesota, including the Minneapolis and St. Paul area and Northern Minnesota. His work with disability clients spans claims against private insurers and ERISA-governed plans, often requiring advocacy at multiple stages. He has also lectured nationally and locally at continuing legal education programs and seminars, teaching other lawyers and legal professionals about strategies, theories, and skills in disability, workers’ compensation, and personal injury cases.
