Thomas C. Mayes, Jr. is a highly dedicated trial lawyer with deep experience in personal injury law. He believes the right to a jury trial is the foundation of justice in civil cases. Thomas earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law. While there, he served as an elected representative in the Student Bar Association and vice president of the Health Law Association. He also earned the top grade in his Wills & Trusts class.

Thomas launched his legal career at a personal injury law firm, where he managed more than 100 active cases and led a team of trial attorneys. He concentrated on premises liability and consistently secured six-figure settlements in complex slip-and-fall injury claims. His background also includes extensive experience in multi-district litigation and serving as a deputy city attorney for six Texas municipalities.

Before entering law full-time, Thomas worked as a lobbyist and local government official for ten years. He represented various clients, including counties, cities, universities, and housing authorities. He successfully pushed for important public health and environmental laws at both the state and national levels. His advocacy work was recognized when he was named Community Advocate of the Year by Mothers Against Drunk Driving in 2019.

Thomas C. Mayes, Jr. also spent over a decade in the field of political consulting, managing dozens of campaigns across several states. He is especially proud of his work on initiatives that helped raise the minimum wage and protect public resources.
