Terry L. English

Terry L. English has practiced law since 1979 and has handled more than 25,000 civil and criminal cases in Bloomington and South Central Indiana. He appears regularly in Indiana state and federal courts and is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court in Washington, D.C.

Terry earned his bachelor’s degree in 1971 from Indiana University before graduating from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington in 1979. While in law school, he served as an editor of the Indiana Law Review. During college, he was the editor of the Indiana Daily Student and later worked as an associate news editor at the Bloomington Herald-Times.

Terry focuses on debt counseling and bankruptcy services, including Chapter 7, Chapter 13, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12 matters. He also represents clients in family law matters, including uncontested divorces, paternity, guardianship, adoption, and dissolution modifications. His criminal law practice includes representing individuals facing charges.

In addition, Terry assists clients with estate planning through drafting wills and trust documents and guiding estate administration. He prepares real estate documents, including Warranty Deeds, Quitclaim Deeds, Vendor’s Affidavits, and Real Estate Contracts. His practice also includes governmental affairs and charter school law under Indiana law.

Terry L. English is a licensed real estate broker and licensed auctioneer in Indiana. He assists clients with residential and commercial real estate transactions and conducts real estate and asset auctions. For decades, he has remained committed to defending clients and protecting their assets across a wide range of legal matters.
