Ryan S. Tougias

Ryan S. Tougias is a Partner at Mandelbaum Barrett PC who represents clients in complex civil and commercial lawsuits and disputes in state and federal courts. He handles business disputes, breach-of-contract claims, fiduciary duty matters, fraud cases, labor and employment issues, creditors’ rights disputes, and bankruptcy-related claims. Ryan works closely with businesses and individuals to resolve conflicts efficiently through litigation or alternative dispute resolution. His goal is to protect client interests while delivering clear strategy, strong advocacy, and practical solutions.

Ryan earned his J.D., cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law, where he served as Lead Articles Editor for the Syracuse Journal of International Law & Commerce and Articles Editor for the American Bar Association’s labor and employment law journal, The Labor Lawyer. He received his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Fairfield University and completed undergraduate coursework at the London School of Economics. His academic background strengthens his understanding of business, finance, and regulatory systems.

Ryan served as a Legal Research Clerk for the Connecticut Superior Court, gaining valuable insight into judicial decision-making early in his career. During law school, he externed with the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Trustee Program, and interned with the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means. He later practiced at a large East Coast law firm before becoming a Partner. He helps clients navigate high-stakes disputes with careful preparation and strong courtroom advocacy.

Ryan S. Tougias is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, as well as before multiple U.S. District Courts and U.S. Courts of Appeals. He is a past president of the Greenwich Bar Association and remains active in several bar associations.
