Tartt B. Thomas is a partner of Farris & Thomas Law and a criminal defense lawyer serving legal support seekers throughout North Carolina. He brings many years of courtroom experience to every case and is known for a focused, strategic approach to criminal defense. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Thomas has represented individuals facing serious criminal charges and worked diligently to protect their rights. His experience on both sides of the courtroom enables him to evaluate cases carefully and develop effective defense strategies grounded in the facts and applicable law.

Mr. Thomas earned his J.D. in 1997 from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Before attending law school, he completed his B.S. in Criminal Justice in 1991 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This academic background has given him a deep understanding of the criminal justice system, which continues to guide his legal practice and decision-making today.

Mr. Thomas began his law career in public service as an Assistant District Attorney for the State of North Carolina in the 7th Prosecutorial District from 1997 to 1999. In this role, he handled a wide range of criminal cases and gained valuable trial experience. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina and before the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of North Carolina.

Mr. Thomas has helped people by providing clear guidance during difficult legal situations throughout his career. He focuses on careful case preparation, detailed legal analysis, and strong courtroom advocacy.
