Tariq Adawi

Tariq Adawi leads a corporate practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, startups, and strategic transactions. He advises companies at every stage, from formation and capital raises to exit planning and post-acquisition integration, using a practical, results-driven approach that supports clear decisions and strong business outcomes.

Tariq earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 2016. He also holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri – Columbia, completed in 2013. During law school, he was a national champion in a negotiation competition.

Tariq represents buyers and sellers across the lower-middle-market, including family-owned businesses, founder-led companies, private equity sponsors, and public companies. His work includes structuring deals, drafting and negotiating agreements, and leading due diligence, while aligning legal strategy with business goals and timelines.

As outside general counsel, Tariq supports companies on daily operations and critical matters. He works closely with management teams, focusing on clear communication, practical risk management, and efficient deal execution. His experience spans industries such as energy, technology, manufacturing, real estate, retail, and transportation.

Tariq also advises on corporate governance, compliance, and risk management. He helps clients stay in good standing and prepare for growth. His background as a founder, including co-inventing and patenting a technology product, strengthens his ability to deliver clear, business-focused legal advice.

Tariq was named a Colorado Rising Star by Thomson Reuters from 2020 to 2022. He has been active in several professional and community roles, including work with nonprofit programs, mentorship initiatives, and legal service organizations that support diverse attorneys and nonprofit groups.
