Tad A. Nelson has built more than three decades of experience as a criminal defense lawyer known for blending scientific insight with legal strategy. Tad’s educational path began at The University of Texas at Austin, followed by earning his Juris Doctor from Cooley Law School. He later pursued advanced scientific training, completing a Master’s in Forensic Toxicology, Forensic Science and Technology at the University of Florida. He also obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in CHEMISTRY from Galveston College, deepening the scientific knowledge he brings into the courtroom.
Tad earned Board Certified in Criminal Law status from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1996, marking his advanced capability in serious criminal matters. His professional recognitions include multiple AV Peer Review Rated – Preeminent honors and distinctions from Avvo. He further achieved the Lawyer Scientist title and the Forensic Drug and Alcohol Lawyer Specialist designation through the American Chemical Society.
