T. Thomas Metier

T. Thomas Metier is the founding partner and senior managing member of Metier Law Firm, LLC in Denver, Colorado. His national personal injury practice focuses on traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, trucking accidents, and motor vehicle accidents. Metier represents people and families affected by catastrophic injuries and wrongful conduct, drawing on decades of trial experience to investigate complex claims, develop litigation strategies, and pursue compensation through negotiation and trial.

Metier earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1981 and a B.A., cum laude, from Coe College in 1977. He also completed truck driver training through The Legacy Corporation in 2018. His legal education and specialized training support his ability to analyze technical evidence, understand trucking operations, and prepare serious injury cases involving commercial vehicles, roadway safety, medical issues, and long-term damages.

Metier has obtained significant results in catastrophic injury and insurance cases. His representative outcomes include a $52 million trial verdict arising from a rollover crash in Colorado, a $17.75 million recovery in an insurance bad faith matter connected to a vehicle crash, and a $13 million settlement in a Wyoming truck accident case. His work also includes claims involving brain and spinal injuries, serious motor vehicle collisions, and other high-impact personal injury matters.

T. Thomas Metier is board certified in Truck Accident Law, Civil Trial Law, and Civil Practice Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has been selected to Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America since 2006 and received the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association’s Kenneth Norman Kripke Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. Metier has also served in leadership roles with truck accident and trial lawyer organizations and as senior faculty for the Trial Lawyers College.
