Sydney Dolan

Sydney Dolan is a dedicated trial lawyer and a founding partner at Dolan + Zimmerman LLP, who advocates for people confronting criminal charges with intelligence, compassion, and resolve. She understands how overwhelming the justice system can feel and works to guide clients through each stage with clarity and confidence. Her greatest professional satisfaction comes from helping individuals navigate difficult lawsuits and disputes in an empowering way while protecting their rights, preserving their dignity, and pursuing the strongest possible outcome through strategic defense and relentless preparation.

Sydney earned her J.D. in 2007 from the University of Colorado School of Law, Boulder, Colorado. While in law school, she served as an intern with the Boulder Public Defender’s Office and was a member of the Moot Court Board from 2006 to 2007. She earned her B.A. in 2003 from the University of Colorado, Denver, Colorado. Her undergraduate studies focused on history.

Sydney has extensive courtroom experience and a thoughtful approach to negotiation. In private practice in Boulder since 2012, she has focused on criminal defense and handled more than 50 jury trials, along with numerous contested hearings. She is known as an aggressive trial lawyer who prepares thoroughly and fights strategically, while also earning respect as a creative, sensitive negotiator who understands when resolution outside the courtroom may best serve a client’s long-term interests and immediate needs.

Sydney Dolan has professional accomplishments, community involvement, and commitment to the Colorado legal profession. She is admitted to practice in Colorado and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. Her affiliations include the Colorado Bar Association, Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, Colorado Women’s Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and Boulder Bar Association.
