Steven M. Levin is the founder and senior partner of Levin & Perconti, a leading personal injury law firm based in Chicago. With a legal career that began in 1976, Mr. Levin is nationally known for his skill in trial law and for helping victims of medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, and personal injury cases. He is recognized for his strong advocacy and has led his firm to win record-breaking verdicts and settlements for injured clients. His leadership has grown the firm from three attorneys to over 30, earning a national reputation for excellence.
Mr. Levin earned his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1973, graduating cum laude. He went on to receive his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1976, also cum laude. While in law school, he served as Lead Article Editor for the Loyola Law Review and received honors for holding the highest GPA in his class.
Over his career, Mr. Levin has become a pioneer in nursing home abuse litigation. He was one of the first attorneys in the United States to focus on prosecuting these cases. He is a founding officer of the American Association for Justice Nursing Home Litigation Group. His firm has secured the top three jury verdicts in nursing home cases in Illinois, showing his strong commitment to protecting vulnerable residents.
In addition to courtroom success, Steven M. Levin has worked with state and federal advocacy groups to improve laws and protect patient rights. He has helped shape legislation in Illinois, including key parts of the Nursing Home Care Act. Mr. Levin also supports the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care, aiming to prevent abuse before it happens.
