Steven Heimberg

Steven Heimberg is a nationally recognized trial lawyer known for his exceptional work in elder abuse, personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, and wrongful death. Dr. Heimberg earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Before entering law, he completed his M.D. at the University of Missouri and went on to post-graduate medical training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He holds a B.S. from the University of Tennessee. His combined medical and legal background allows him to evaluate injuries, understand medical errors, and work effectively with expert witnesses in significant litigation.

Dr. Heimberg began his legal career at leading national firms, including Skadden Arps and the Washington, D.C., predecessor to Reed Smith. He later founded Heimberg Barr, the only California firm ever recognized by the National Law Journal as the #1 Medical Law Firm in the country. In 2022, he joined Stalwart Law Group as a Partner. Over more than 30 years, he has obtained the largest medical verdict and the most significant medical settlement in the history of California, as well as the highest medical verdicts and settlements across multiple counties. He has achieved over $1 billion in results for clients and helped shape California law, including new methods for proving damages.
