About
Steve Shapiro is a veteran trial attorney and partner at Ogborn Mihm LLP, with a practice devoted to catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, and brain injury litigation. With over 65 jury trials to his name, Steve has built a career around fighting for justice on behalf of individuals and families harmed by negligence. His casework spans traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal cord injuries, burns, wrongful death, and serious orthopedic trauma. For more than 35 years, he has helped clients recover life-changing compensation and access the rehabilitative care they need.
Steve earned his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and holds a B.A. in Pre-Law from The Pennsylvania State University.
Practicing law since 1983, Steve has developed national recognition for his focus on neurolaw and his ability to prove “invisible” brain injuries in court. He has won multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements for clients, including a $6.25 million settlement for a TBI sustained by an infant in foster care, and a $5.75 million verdict in a truck accident case involving severe brain trauma. His success includes the largest personal injury verdict in Weld County and a groundbreaking slip-and-fall verdict in Colorado.
Steve Shapiro is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, multiple federal courts, and all Colorado state courts. He is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent-rated attorney and has been recognized by Super Lawyers. Beyond his trial work, he serves on the executive committee of the AAJ Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group and on the boards of the United States Brain Injury Alliance and the Invisible Disabilities Association.
A longtime advocate in the TBI space, Steve continues to lead efforts for improved legal strategies and better outcomes for those living with brain injuries, proving that dedication and expertise can make invisible injuries visible in the eyes of justice.
