Steve Schroering graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1988. He started his legal career as a prosecutor in the Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. There, he tried serious crimes such as robbery, rape, arson, and capital murder. He was later promoted to Division Chief and joined the Major Office Bureau, where he handled complex and high-level cases. In 1991, he was named Jefferson County Prosecutor of the Year. After that, he served in the Kentucky Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit, where he handled statewide cases involving drug trafficking, election fraud, and political corruption.
In 1996, Schroering opened his own law office and focused fully on defending people facing criminal charges. He has received honors including the Louisville Bar Association’s Frank Haddad Award and was named a Top Lawyer by Louisville Magazine. From 2000 to 2010, he also taught trial practice at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and led legal seminars across Kentucky on topics like trial strategy, jury selection, and evidence.
Steve Schroering is licensed in both state and federal court and is a member of the Louisville Bar Association and Kentucky Bar Association. He remains dedicated to helping people get fair treatment in the justice system.
