Sterling J. Bowers

Sterling J. Bowers is a trial attorney who represents clients in criminal defense and litigation matters. Before practicing law, he worked in many hands-on jobs, including ranching, rodeoing, welding, and music industry work. These experiences help him connect with clients from many different backgrounds.

Sterling earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law. While in law school, he focused on trial advocacy and gained courtroom experience through academic programs and legal training.

During law school, Sterling completed externships with federal District Judge Kelly H. Rankin and Justice Kari Jo Gray of the Wyoming Supreme Court. These roles allowed him to study courtroom procedure, legal writing, and case preparation while working closely with experienced members of the judiciary.

Sterling later worked as an associate at the Spence Law Firm in Jackson, Wyoming. In that role, he handled cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, and civil rights litigation. His work there helped strengthen his understanding of trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.

After returning to the Llano Estacado, Sterling served as an Assistant District Attorney. In this position, he prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases, gaining extensive courtroom experience. His time as a prosecutor strengthened his trial skills and understanding of the criminal justice system.
