About
Stephen Ollar is a skilled trial attorney known for helping people who have suffered due to someone else’s carelessness. He works with clients throughout Washington, D.C. and Maryland. Stephen focuses on making sure that those responsible for injuries—whether individuals, companies, or agencies—are held legally accountable. His main areas include auto accidents, medical malpractice, and general tort claims.
Stephen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2004 from the University of Texas at Austin. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law in 2016, graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, he was active in trial advocacy and represented clients in real cases through the Criminal Justice Clinic.
Stephen developed a strong legal foundation through multiple legal internships and a respected clerkship. He clerked for Chief Judge Eric T. Washington at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, which sharpened his legal writing and deepened his understanding of appellate and trial procedures. He also interned with the Department of Justice, the Public Defender Service, and a criminal defense attorney.
Stephen has gained broad litigation experience across both civil and criminal areas. His background includes personal injury and criminal defense, offering clients well-rounded legal insight. He was part of a national trial competition team and contributed to the American University Law Review as a senior staff writer.
Stephen Ollar brings the same level of discipline and commitment to his legal work as he did during his six years in the U.S. Army. As a Staff Sergeant and airborne infantryman, he served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now rooted in the DMV area, he continues to fight for fairness and justice on behalf of injury victims.
