About

Stephen Neyman is a Massachusetts criminal defense lawyer with offices in Boston and North Andover. For more than 38 years, he has represented clients facing criminal charges across the state. His practice focuses exclusively on criminal defense and includes drug offenses, domestic violence, OUI and DUI, sex crimes, firearms charges, theft, fraud, white collar crimes, and homicide. He personally handles cases and prepares each defense through careful investigation and strategic advocacy.

Stephen earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in 1987 after receiving a B.A. in Government from Lehigh University in 1984. He began his career handling criminal and civil litigation in the San Francisco area. He later served as a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles County, where he prosecuted gang-related matters and cases involving drug offenses, sex crimes, and murder. This background gives him insight into how prosecutors evaluate evidence and build criminal cases.

Stephen has handled thousands of criminal matters and has completed more than 400 jury trials and over 1,000 bench trials. He has appeared in nearly every Massachusetts court and is licensed in state and federal courts in Massachusetts and California, as well as the District of Columbia. His preparation often includes visiting crime scenes, locating witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and working with private investigators and expert witnesses to identify weaknesses in police investigations and prosecution evidence.

Stephen Neyman has been selected to Super Lawyers for 14 consecutive years and has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He combines extensive courtroom experience with direct client communication, giving clients access to him throughout their cases. His approach centers on protecting constitutional rights, explaining the legal process, and preparing each matter thoroughly for hearings, negotiations, or trial.
