Stephen Millan

Stephen Millan, Esq. is a seasoned Miami criminal defense attorney at Albert Quirantes, Esq. Criminal DUI & Ticket Lawyers. With over three decades of legal experience, he has handled cases across federal and state courts, building a reputation for strategic defense and unwavering advocacy. His practice spans criminal law, DUI and traffic offenses, drug crimes, domestic violence, theft, fraud, expungements, and juvenile law.

Stephen earned his Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Boston College in 1987 and subsequently received his Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in 1990. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1991 and is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. His educational foundation and extensive training laid the groundwork for his career as a prosecutor, judge, and defense attorney.

Before opening his criminal defense practice, Stephen built his skills on the other side of the courtroom as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, prosecuting serious cases involving drug crimes, robbery, felony offenses, and DUI charges. He then served as a Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge, presiding over hundreds of criminal and juvenile cases and gaining first-hand insight into how prosecutors build cases and how judges make decisions. Today, he leverages that rare prosecutorial and judicial experience to develop smart, strategic defense strategies for clients facing serious criminal charges in Miami and throughout South Florida.

Beyond the courtroom, Stephen is deeply committed to justice and community service. He has served with the Guardian Ad Litem Program to represent abused and neglected children and has offered pro bono legal assistance through initiatives such as Put Something Back.
