Stephen J. Moriarty

Stephen J. Moriarty is a Shareholder and Director at Fellers Snider with more than 35 years of legal experience. His practice focuses on bankruptcy and restructuring, financial institutions, reorganization, and insolvency law. He represents debtors and creditors in complex financial matters involving businesses, banks, lenders, and publicly traded companies.

Stephen earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa in 1982. He also earned his B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1979. This education supports his deep understanding of bankruptcy, creditor rights, debtor issues, commercial litigation, and strategic case management for clients today.

Stephen has handled complex financial matters from both sides of the case. He has represented debtors and creditors, including sole proprietors, publicly traded companies, banks, and lenders. His work in bankruptcy, reorganization, and insolvency law provides clients with clear guidance on addressing financial pressure, disputes, restructuring needs, and business challenges.

Stephen has served as Chapter 11 Trustee for a public oil and gas production company. He has also served as a court-appointed receiver for the Oklahoma Department of Securities and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in multiple Ponzi scheme cases, bringing steady judgment to difficult financial disputes and proceedings.

Stephen is admitted in Oklahoma, the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. His memberships include the American Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association, and the Academy of Court-Appointed Masters.
