Stefan B. Kalina

Stefan B. Kalina is an accomplished litigation attorney with extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, insurance disputes, and real estate law. He represents corporate and individual clients before trial and appellate courts across multiple jurisdictions, providing strategic counsel in high-stakes cases. A member of the Board of Editors of the New York Dispute Resolution Lawyer, he is well-versed in arbitration, mediation, and out-of-court negotiation.

Stefan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1996, receiving multiple honors for litigation skills, moot court, and trial advocacy. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science at the University of Illinois in 1993 as a Cohn Scholar. He is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and multiple U.S. District and Appellate Courts.

Stefan B. Kalina has handled corporate ventures, lending arrangements, fiduciary obligations, landlord-tenant matters, and intellectual property disputes throughout his career. His insurance law practice includes directors’ and officers’ liability, data privacy protection, and policy coverage analysis. As a former Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, Brooklyn, he advises clients on potential civil and criminal liability matters. Additionally, he has served as local counsel for firms outside the tri-state area needing representation in New York courts.

Beyond his legal practice, Stefan is dedicated to pro bono work, earning recognition as one of Touro Law Center’s Outstanding Long Island Pro Bono Attorneys. He has held teaching positions as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice and is actively involved in the New York State Bar Association.
