Sheryl T. Hurst is a Memphis immigration lawyer who represents individuals in a broad range of U.S. immigration matters. Her practice includes asylum, adjustment of status, citizenship, consular processing, waivers of inadmissibility, U visas, crimmigration, and relief for children and victims of domestic violence. She represents clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and in immigration court, helping people address legal issues involving family unity, humanitarian protection, and lawful immigration status.

Hurst earned her J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. She received a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Memphis. She holds a Certificate in Inter-American Legal Studies from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and a Certificate in Comparative Development from the Pontifical University of Salamanca. Her academic training supports her work on immigration matters involving different legal systems, cultures, and national backgrounds.

Hurst previously worked with the Memphis Community Legal Center’s Immigrant Justice program, where she advocated for low-income clients in immigration court and before USCIS. She later co-founded an immigration law practice before establishing her current practice. In 2015, she volunteered with the CARA Pro Bono Project in Dilley, Texas, providing legal representation to detained mothers and children at the South Texas Family Residential Center. Her experience includes humanitarian and family-based immigration matters involving vulnerable clients.

Sheryl T. Hurst is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and represents immigration clients in matters governed by federal immigration law.
