Sheila H. Willis

Sheila H. Willis is a partner with extensive experience in adoptions and family law. She focuses on adoption law, including interstate compact placements, and represents clients in complex family law litigation. Ms. Willis has successfully argued before the Court of Appeal, bringing both skill and compassion to her cases. Her dedication to protecting families and guiding clients through difficult transitions defines her career.

Ms. Willis earned her J.D. from Loyola University College of Law in 2012. Her academic background, combined with years of professional experience, provides her with the insight necessary to manage intricate adoption cases and sensitive family disputes. She is Board Certified by the Louisiana State Bar Association as a Family Law Specialist, a distinction awarded to attorneys who have demonstrated advanced knowledge and skill in their field.

In addition to her practice, Ms. Willis is a frequent lecturer on adoption law. She has spoken at Loyola Law School, the LSU Family Law Seminar, the Louisiana State Bar Association CLE programs, and before Tangipahoa Parish Family Court judges and attorneys. She is also the published author of the Adoption Chapter for the Louisiana Civil Practice Forms and contributed to Voices Rising: Stories from the Katrina Narrative Project, presented at the Tennessee Williams Festival.

Sheila H. Willis is a Fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and an active member of several professional organizations, including the Louisiana Bar Association and the 22nd JDC Bar Association. She also serves as a family law mediator and is a member of the NOLA Collaborative Divorce group. Through her advocacy, writing, and teaching, she continues to shape the development of adoption and family law in Louisiana.
