About

Sean Pevsner has built his career on advancing the rights of individuals with disabilities and ensuring equal access to education, employment, and community life. Despite living with severe cerebral palsy, his unwavering determination and lifelong advocacy have made him a respected figure in disability and civil rights law. His professional journey reflects both resilience and an unyielding commitment to justice.

Sean began his academic path with a strong focus on the classics, earning a degree in Greek and Latin from the University of Texas at Austin. His outstanding performance earned him the WJ Battle Award for excellence in Greek and Latin translation, along with recognition for his advocacy and leadership within the university community. Building on this foundation, he later achieved his Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas School of Law in 2004, fulfilling a goal that many had once thought impossible.

Sean’s early legal work was through a fellowship with Equal Justice Works, where he collaborated with Disability Rights Texas to support individuals with disabilities in securing equal access to vital public services. His efforts went beyond representation—he educated clients in self-advocacy and empowerment. As part of his fellowship, he authored the Flexible Interactive Process Manual, a resource designed to help employers and employees cultivate constructive workplace relationships grounded in disability awareness and inclusion.

Throughout his career, Sean has continued to champion educational equity and disability rights. He has guided students and families in navigating the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring their legal protections are upheld. His work also extends to guardianship and probate matters involving individuals with disabilities, where his insight and empathy have proven invaluable.

Sean Pevsner stands as a testament to perseverance, intellectual achievement, and service. His life and legal practice embody the principle that determination and advocacy can dismantle barriers and open paths toward equality for all.
