Scott McCarthy

Scott McCarthy is the founder of McCarthy Law Office in Milton, Wisconsin, and a trial lawyer with a broad general practice. He represents clients in personal injury, criminal defense, family law, civil litigation, wills, and probate matters. His work includes accident and wrongful death claims, misdemeanor and felony defense, divorce and custody disputes, contract and property litigation, and other matters requiring negotiation, courtroom advocacy, or practical problem solving.

McCarthy earned his J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1991 and a B.S. with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1987. His legal education was followed by extensive litigation and public service experience. He later served as the elected Rock County District Attorney, giving him direct experience with criminal prosecution, case preparation, evidence, and trial strategy that continues to inform his defense and litigation work.

McCarthy has practiced since 1991 and has tried cases in courts across southern Wisconsin. His personal injury work has included serious accident matters and substantial verdicts, while his criminal practice benefits from earlier service as a prosecutor handling major felony cases. He has also represented businesses and individuals in complex civil disputes involving contracts, property, construction, and confidential information.
