Scott earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Idaho in 2003 after attending Whitman College, followed by a J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law in 2007. He was admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that same year and has since expanded his admissions to several federal courts and appellate jurisdictions.
