She later earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Montana School of Law in 2016, where she held leadership roles with the Rural Advocacy League and Criminal Law Group. After law school, she began her career as a public defender, regularly gaining extensive courtroom experience across Western Montana. She handled a full felony caseload in more than ten counties, developing the ability to assess evidence, manage complex proceedings, negotiate effectively, and advocate for clients in high-pressure criminal matters.
