About
Sarah Murtada is an attorney with Denali Law Group who focuses on criminal defense for clients in Wasilla, Palmer, Anchorage, and the Mat-Su Valley. Her interest in criminal justice advocacy developed through work connected with exoneration efforts in Denver and continued through law school, where she studied criminal justice policy, warrant reform, and civil rights issues. She now represents Alaskans facing criminal accusations and the procedural demands of the criminal justice system.
Murtada earned a degree in Neuroscience from Regis University in Denver and later studied law at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis. Her law school work included attention to warrant reform, criminal justice policy, and civil rights. Before law school, she also worked in the medical field in Alaska’s North Slope Borough, giving her experience with technical information and professional settings outside traditional legal practice.
Murtada first worked with Denali Law Group during her first year of law school and developed a strong interest in criminal defense through that experience. After graduating, she returned to Alaska to continue representing people accused of crimes. Her practice requires reviewing evidence, researching legal issues, preparing motions and hearings, and advising clients about the choices that arise as criminal cases progress through investigation, charging, negotiation, and possible trial.
Sarah Murtada brings a combination of criminal justice advocacy, civil rights interests, scientific education, and Alaska experience to her defense practice. She works with clients to understand the government’s allegations, identify legal and factual issues, and prepare for each stage of a case. Her background supports careful analysis and clear client communication in matters where liberty, reputation, and future opportunities may be affected by the outcome.
