Samuel Morris is a dedicated labor law attorney with Godwin, Morris, Laurenzi & Bloomfield, P.C., where he represents unions and workers across Tennessee and beyond. His practice focuses on labor law, workers’ compensation, unemployment benefits, and related claims, including maritime, longshore, and railroad matters. With decades of experience, he is known for defending the rights of hardworking individuals and their organizations.
Samuel began his academic path by earning a Bachelor of Arts in physics from Lawrence University in 1976, and then pursued his Juris Doctor at Cornell Law School, where he graduated in 1979. While at Cornell, he also attended the New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations, further developing his expertise in employment and labor issues. He is admitted to practice law in Indiana, Tennessee, multiple U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Before joining private practice, Samuel served as an organizer for the Indiana State Employees’ Association from 1979 to 1981. He then became staff counsel for Teamsters Local 215 in Evansville, Indiana, where he gained extensive firsthand experience advocating for labor organizations. Over the years, he has represented prominent unions, including Teamsters Locals 215, 236, 667, and 891, as well as the UAW International Union and BCTGM Locals.
Samuel Morris is an active member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and American Bar Association. His career has been marked by consistent commitment to advancing labor rights and ensuring fair treatment for workers.
