Samuel J. Nelson is an associate attorney at Frieberg, Nelson & Ask, L.L.P., a South Dakota firm with offices in Canton and Beresford. Nelson served as an active-duty military attorney in the United States Marine Corps from 2011 through 2017. His assignments included assistant trial counsel, legal assistance attorney, trial counsel, and defense counsel. That experience provided substantial exposure to prosecution, defense, client counseling, and courtroom practice. He later continued his military service in the Marine Corps Reserve and joined Frieberg, Nelson & Ask in 2017.
Samuel J. Nelson has also served as city attorney for Alcester, South Dakota, bringing his litigation and advisory experience to municipal matters. He is admitted to practice in South Dakota and belongs to the State Bar of South Dakota and the South Dakota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
