Roopal P. Luhana is a nationally recognized attorney with an extensive track record in mass torts, product liability, and pharmaceutical litigation. With a deep-rooted commitment to justice, she has spent her career advocating for individuals harmed by dangerous drugs, defective medical devices, and corporate negligence.
Roopal earned her J.D. with merit scholarship honors from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2001 and her B.A. from Rutgers University in 1998. She has been named a Super Lawyer in New York from 2013 to 2020 and a Rising Star in 2011 and 2012, reflecting her outstanding legal contributions.
Roopal has held significant leadership roles in some of the nation’s most high-profile multidistrict litigations (MDLs). She currently serves on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Zantac (Ranitidine) litigation and chairs its ESI/Document Production Committee. She was one of only two women appointed to the PSC in the Yasmin and Yaz litigation, which resulted in over $2 billion in settlements for affected women.
Roopal’s past leadership includes roles in the Sorin 3T Heater-Cooler System litigation, denture cream lawsuits, and class actions, including the $586 million IPO Securities Litigation and a $35 million consumer fraud settlement against IBM. She is also an advocate for gender diversity in the legal field.
Roopal P. Luhana was a featured speaker at the Duke Law Conference on promoting women and minorities in MDL leadership roles and contributed to MDL best practice guidelines for federal courts. Known for her legal excellence, compassion, and client-centered focus, Roopal continues to lead national litigation efforts with purpose and integrity.
