Ronald C. Morton is the founding member of Morton Law Firm in Clinton, Mississippi. Mr. Morton focuses his statewide practice on estate planning, asset protection planning, elder law, business planning, and Medicaid planning. He helps families protect property, plan for long term care, address probate concerns, and prepare legal strategies for the people and assets they value most.
Mr. Morton graduated cum laude from Mississippi College in 1988 with a double major in public administration and applied sociology. He earned his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law in 1992 and later received an LL.M. in Taxation with Honors from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2007. His academic background supports his work in tax-sensitive estate planning, Medicaid planning, and elder law.
Mr. Morton has broad experience as an educator, writer, and advisor in estate planning and elder law. He is a Certified Elder Law Attorney through the National Elder Law Foundation and teaches Elder Law at Mississippi College School of Law as an adjunct professor. His published work includes materials on Mississippi civil procedure, estate administration and probate, limited liability companies and partnerships, and professional responsibility matters involving clients with disabilities.
Ronald C. Morton is licensed to practice in Mississippi and Louisiana and remains active in professional organizations connected to estate planning and elder law. He received the Mississippi Bar’s Distinguished Service Award in 2005 for work in education and law office technology. Through his writing, teaching, seminars, and client service, Mr. Morton helps families and professionals understand complex planning issues and make informed decisions.
