Ronald C. Morton

Ronald C. Morton is the founding member of Morton Law Firm, PLLC, in Clinton, Mississippi. His practice focuses on elder law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, asset protection, special needs planning, and estate administration. He also advises on veterans’ benefits and business planning. Morton works with individuals and families seeking to protect assets, plan for long-term care, and prepare legal arrangements that reflect their financial and family circumstances.

Morton earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law in 1992, where he served as Managing Editor of the Mississippi College Law Review. He later received an LL.M. in Taxation with Honors from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2007. His undergraduate degree is a B.S., cum laude, from Mississippi College, earned in 1988 with studies in public administration and applied sociology.

Admitted to practice in Mississippi in 1992 and Louisiana in 1994, Morton has more than three decades of legal experience. He advises families on Medicaid eligibility, nursing home asset protection, probate, trusts, and planning for beneficiaries with disabilities. He is a Certified Elder Law Attorney through the National Elder Law Foundation and teaches elder law as an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law. He has also contributed to publications on Mississippi legal practice.

Morton received the Mississippi Bar Distinguished Service Award in 2005 for his contributions to legal education and technology. He has held leadership roles on the Mississippi Bar’s Technology Committee and serves on its Ethics Committee. His professional affiliations include the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys. Ronald C.
