Robert James

Robert James is the founder and head of an Atlanta trial practice handling criminal defense and personal injury matters. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the justice system and previously served as the elected District Attorney of DeKalb County. His background includes criminal prosecution, courtroom advocacy, and private representation, giving him extensive experience with evidence, witnesses, trial preparation, and the strategic decisions involved in contested cases.

Robert earned a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 1999 and a B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University in 1995. His legal education prepared him for a career centered on courtroom advocacy, prosecution, and trial strategy. The combination of undergraduate and legal study preceded years of public service and private practice in Georgia, where he developed experience addressing serious criminal matters, litigation strategy, and injury-related disputes.

Robert served as DeKalb County District Attorney and earlier as DeKalb County Solicitor General. He has acted as lead trial attorney in significant Georgia cases and has taught litigation techniques to prosecutors and police officers. His public-service background gives him direct knowledge of how the state develops evidence and prepares criminal cases. In private practice, he applies that perspective to defense strategy while his firm also represents people pursuing personal injury claims.

Robert James has received recognition including News Maker of the Year from the Fulton County Daily Report, On the Rise recognition, and a Georgia Trend Top 40 Under 40 selection. He has served on the State Bar of Georgia’s Disciplinary Rules and Procedures Committee and previously led the Georgia Association of Solicitors General.
