Jonathan A. Bartell

Jonathan A. Bartell is a founding partner of Bartell Georgalas & Juarez in Independence, Ohio, with more than 25 years of legal experience. His practice combines immigration law and criminal defense, serving individuals and families in Ohio and across the United States. He handles deportation and removal proceedings, asylum claims, family-based immigration, green cards, citizenship applications, and criminal allegations that can affect a person’s immigration status.

Jonathan earned a B.S. from Ithaca College in 1993 and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2000. Between college and law school, he worked for a nonprofit connected with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Thailand. His experience assisting Laotian, Cambodian, and Vietnamese refugees helped shape his approach to immigration law and the challenges facing people seeking protection.

Jonathan appears before immigration courts nationwide and represents people accused of state and federal crimes in Ohio. His criminal defense work includes DUI matters, serious felonies, expungements, and record sealing. He also addresses immigration consequences arising from criminal charges, convictions, and plea agreements.
