Robert J. Varak

Robert J. Varak is a seasoned Naperville estate planning attorney with nearly 30 years of experience helping families protect their assets and plan for the future. Over the course of his career, he has shifted from commercial litigation and transactions to estate planning, where he finds deep professional and personal fulfillment guiding clients through important life decisions.

Robert earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1993 and obtained his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 1996. His early work in commercial law honed his precision in drafting legal documents and strengthened his ability to foresee potential challenges in court. This experience taught him the value of direct communication, realistic advice, and setting clear expectations so clients fully understand both costs and possible outcomes.

Robert’s decision to focus exclusively on estate planning came after a personal tragedy in 2005 that reshaped his perspective on law and family. The experience inspired him to open a solo practice, allowing him to spend more time with his family while dedicating his career to helping others prepare for life’s unexpected turns. Having witnessed how unprepared families can be in times of loss, he made it his mission to help others secure their legacies with compassion and foresight.

Robert J. Varak also extends his services to nonprofit organizations, assisting them with estate-related planning and advising clients on the personal and philanthropic value of including charitable giving in their estate plans. He remains active in professional groups, including the Suburban Chicago Planned Giving Council, the Small Business Advocacy Council, and the Trusts and Estates Section of the Illinois State Bar Association. Licensed in Illinois and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and Northern District of Indiana, he continues to serve his community with dedication and integrity.
