Rob Treinen

Rob Treinen is a New Mexico consumer protection attorney at Treinen Law Office who represents individuals in lawsuits and class actions against businesses. His practice focuses on consumer law, including fraud, debt collection abuse, credit reporting disputes, predatory lending, and other unfair business conduct. He has handled more than 200 consumer cases in state and federal courts. Rob earned his B.A. magna cum laude from Briar Cliff College. He later received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. His academic training provided a foundation for a career centered on civil litigation, consumer protection statutes, and advocacy for individuals facing unfair commercial practices.

Rob is admitted in New Mexico and Colorado and previously held admission in the Navajo Nation, where his status is inactive. He is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar and the National Association of Consumer Advocates. He has presented continuing legal education programs on consumer law for attorneys across the country. He has further served as amicus counsel for Public Justice in matters involving consumer rights.

Rob Treinen has helped secure published decisions addressing consumer rights in federal and New Mexico appellate courts. His work has appeared in opinions from the Tenth Circuit, New Mexico Supreme Court, and New Mexico Court of Appeals. He began his consumer protection career with New Mexico Legal Aid in Gallup. He continues to devote substantial time to pro bono work and educational presentations focused on consumer law and access to justice.
