With over four decades of legal experience, Rick Sorenson is a trusted authority in commercial real estate, business transactions, and civil litigation. Board certified in commercial real estate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1993, he serves clients across various industries, offering effective counsel in governance, operations, sales, acquisitions, and regulatory compliance.
Rick earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law in 1977, where he was a member of the Legal Research Board, Honor Council, and Phi Delta Phi. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University, graduating cum laude in 1974 while also serving in the Student Senate.
Throughout his distinguished career, Rick has advised leading electric cooperatives, governmental entities, universities, and private businesses on high-value transactions and legal challenges. His deep knowledge of construction, condemnation, eminent domain, and landlord-tenant law further enhances his real estate practice. He has contributed to multimillion-dollar development projects, including the CREZ transmission and Barnett Shale initiatives.
