Rick L. Stacey

Rick L. Stacey is a founding member of McConnell Wagner Sykes + Stacey PLLC and an accomplished trial lawyer with extensive experience in complex commercial litigation. He focuses his practice on construction law, real estate disputes, business litigation, and contract matters. Rick has secured more than $45 million in damage awards through jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations, and is recognized for his skill in representing contractors, owners, and businesses in high-stakes disputes.

Rick earned his J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he received a certification in Environmental and Natural Resource Law. He also holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Boise State University and was nominated as a Top 10 Scholar. His academic background, combined with early experience in the construction industry, provides him with a valuable technical understanding that strengthens his legal analysis and strategic planning.

Rick’s work includes drafting, negotiating, and litigating construction and commercial contracts, including EPC and EPCM agreements for public and private projects. He represents general contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, suppliers, and project owners. He has also been retained as an expert advisor on construction contracts and has testified on construction law issues internationally. His broad litigation experience spans breach of contract claims, real estate conflicts, business disputes, and commercial liability matters.

Rick L. Stacey’s professional accomplishments include Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent status, multiple Super Lawyers selections, and recognition by national litigation and construction law organizations. He regularly presents seminars and CLE programs on construction liens, contracting, insurance issues, and project management. He is an active member of several professional associations, including the Idaho State Bar, Idaho Association of Defense Counsel, and American Bar Association.
