Rick Kornfeld

Rick Kornfeld is a veteran trial lawyer at Recht Kornfeld PC, where he focuses on white collar criminal defense, corporate compliance, and internal investigations. A former federal prosecutor, Rick brings decades of courtroom and investigative experience to clients facing complex legal issues. He has tried many cases in state and federal courts across the country.

Rick earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and holds a B.S.J. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Rick represents Fortune 500 companies, corporate executives, licensed professionals, and public figures in high-stakes matters involving securities fraud, environmental law, immigration compliance, and healthcare regulation. He routinely advises boards of directors, audit committees, and C-suite leaders on responding to federal investigations, managing enforcement risk, and strengthening corporate compliance programs. Rick’s global practice includes counseling clients on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, export control laws, and cross-border regulatory concerns. He is admitted to practice before the International Criminal Court in The Hague and has worked on cases in Europe, South America, and Asia. Before entering private practice, Rick served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago, prosecuting white collar and organized crime. He also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado.
