Richard Vaznaugh is a highly skilled employment attorney with nearly three decades of experience representing employees in California. As the principal of the Law Office of Richard Vaznaugh in San Francisco, he is dedicated to advocating for workers’ rights in civil litigation, offering strong representation against employers of all sizes.
Mr. Vaznaugh earned his B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1989. He completed his J.D. at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, in 1994. During law school, he distinguished himself as a Public Interest Scholar and served as Associate Editor for the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review.
Early in his career, Mr. Vaznaugh worked as a law clerk in employment litigation at Siegel & LeWitter and at La Raza Centro Legal in San Francisco. He also externed for Judge William Cahill of the San Francisco Superior Court, gaining valuable insights into employment law. In 1997, he founded his own practice, exclusively representing employees in employment disputes.
Mr. Vaznaugh has successfully handled a wide range of cases, including those involving discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour violations, and sexual harassment. In 2019, he achieved a $1.82 million settlement in a wage and hour class action against a multinational corporation, demonstrating his commitment to securing justice for workers.
Mr. Vaznaugh is an active member of the California Employment Lawyers Association and has served on its Legislative Affairs Committee for over two decades. He has also completed advanced trial training through the organization’s Trial College. Fluent in English and Spanish, he ensures that his services are accessible to clients from diverse backgrounds, providing them with the legal advocacy they need to protect their rights in the workplace.
