About
Richard S. Williams is a North Carolina Attorney with Hux & Keeney, where his practice focuses on personal injury, real estate, family law, estate planning, and estate administration. He provides practical guidance, careful preparation, and legal service tailored to individuals and families facing important decisions, disputes, transactions, or planning needs.
Richard’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration Pre-Law, with a minor in Political Science, from Campbell University in 2016, where he graduated cum laude. He earned his Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law in 2018, graduating cum laude as one of the top 10 students in his class. During law school, he gained valuable legal experience with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office, the Guilford County Public Defender’s Office, and through a residency with Chief Justice Mark Martin of the North Carolina Supreme Court. These roles helped build a foundation in advocacy, courtroom procedure, public service, and legal analysis.
After passing the February 2019 bar exam, Richard was admitted to practice law in North Carolina and began serving clients in Harnett, Johnston, and Lee Counties. His early practice focused primarily on domestic relations and personal injury matters, giving him experience with sensitive family issues and injury-related claims from the start. In 2024, he returned to Rockingham County to continue serving the community where his professional roots and local commitment are especially strong. At Hux & Keeney, he helps clients address legal concerns through organized planning, clear communication, practical advice, and steady representation focused on protecting their rights and interests.
Richard S. Williams’ work supports people dealing with harm, uncertainty, financial disruption, family transitions, property matters, and estate responsibilities. He helps clients understand their options, gather important information, prepare necessary documents, and pursue solutions that are practical, protective, and aligned with their individual goals and long-term needs. He was named one of The National Trial Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 in 2025. His career reflects strong academic achievement, practical legal training, and a continued focus on helping clients move through legal challenges with professionalism, preparation, and respect for their goals.
