Alan G. Orlowsky has dedicated decades to helping individuals, families, and business owners address complex legal and financial matters. Alan earned a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Illinois in Champaign. After graduation, he successfully passed the CPA exam. He later earned his Juris Doctor from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law and passed the Illinois bar exam in 1975. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois, the Federal District Court, and the Federal Tax Court.
Alan began his legal career with the Internal Revenue Service, serving as an attorney in the Estate and Gift Tax Division from 1975 to 1978. In that role, he audited federal estate tax and gift tax returns and gained valuable insight into tax-related matters. During the same period, he taught accounting, taxation, and business law as a part-time instructor at Northeastern Illinois University School of Business.
Alan later expanded his professional background through work in both private practice and higher education. He served as a tax professional with Deloitte & Touche and taught taxation and accounting at Loyola University of Chicago School of Business. His extensive knowledge has also been shared through published writing and media appearances. He contributed to the book 21st Century Wealth: Essential Financial Planning Principles and has written numerous articles addressing estate planning topics. His insights have been featured on Bloomberg Business Radio as well as local television and radio business programs.
Alan G. Orlowsky remains active within the legal and accounting communities through membership in the Chicago Bar Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
