Richard L. Bourland

Richard L. Bourland is a seasoned attorney with a practice focused entirely on litigation. With a career spanning over five decades, he has handled a broad range of civil disputes, consistently demonstrating deep legal knowledge and unwavering client advocacy. Richard earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University in 1967, providing him with a solid foundation in business principles. He continued at Baylor University School of Law, where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1971. Shortly after, he was admitted to the Texas Bar and began practicing law with a sharp focus on litigation.

Since entering the legal field in 1971, Richard has worked at respected law firms, taking on major roles in complex litigation matters. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and several federal courts, including the Northern District of Texas. His entire career has been devoted to courtroom litigation, with 100% of his practice centered on this demanding area.
Throughout his career, Richard has earned recognition for his excellence and integrity. He has been AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 1984 and listed among Super Lawyers in Texas Monthly from 2003 to 2011 and again in 2013–2014. He has also been named a Top Attorney in Civil Law & Litigation by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine in multiple years.
