About
Richard A. Samaniego is an attorney at Gibson Watson Marino LLC, where he represents clients in family law, probate, business law, criminal defense, and municipal matters. Licensed in Texas since 2006 and Kansas since 2007, he has appeared before municipal, district, appellate, and supreme courts in Kansas, as well as before state administrative agencies and the Kansas Legislature. His practice combines litigation, negotiation, and collaborative solutions tailored to meet each client’s needs.
Richard earned his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government, with a minor in Business, from the University of Texas at Austin. His academic and professional background provides a strong foundation for his work across a broad spectrum of civil, family, and criminal law matters.
In addition to private practice, Richard serves as City Attorney for the City of Rose Hill and the City of Douglass. He was appointed by the Kansas Attorney General as Chair of the Kansas Crime Victims Compensation Board in 2018 and continues to serve in that role.
Richard is also a member of the Kansas Child Support Guidelines Committee, appointed by the Kansas Supreme Court, and serves on the Kansas Judicial Council Family Law Advisory Committee. His professional involvement includes leadership roles with the Wichita Bar Association, where he currently serves on the Board of Governors and chairs the Legislative Committee.
Richard A. Samaniego is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. He has been recognized with an AV Preeminent Rating, inclusion in Super Lawyers, and the Wichita Bar Association President’s Award for Service to the Bar.
