Raymond G. Areaux

Raymond G. Areaux is a highly respected attorney specializing in intellectual property law. With nearly four decades of experience, Mr. Areaux is a founding partner of Carver, Darden, Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux, LLC, where he chairs the firm’s intellectual property practice group. His expertise spans various legal matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and intellectual property litigation. A registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, he is also a trusted mediator and arbitrator in complex intellectual property disputes.

Mr. Areaux earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Tulane University in 1978. He also holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the same institution. He earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1985, where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review.

Throughout his career, Mr. Areaux has helped clients strategically secure, license, and enforce their intellectual property rights. His patent prosecution experience spans electronics, software, biotechnology, and mechanical technologies. He also advises on trademarks, service marks, and domain name disputes, and counsels clients on data privacy and cybersecurity compliance, including GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.
