Raymond G. Areaux is a highly respected attorney specializing in intellectual property law. With nearly four decades of experience, Mr. Areaux is a founding partner of Carver, Darden, Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux, LLC, where he chairs the firm’s intellectual property practice group. His expertise spans various legal matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and intellectual property litigation. A registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, he is also a trusted mediator and arbitrator in complex intellectual property disputes.
Mr. Areaux earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Tulane University in 1978. He also holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the same institution. He earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1985, where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review.
Throughout his career, Mr. Areaux has assisted clients in securing, licensing, and protecting their intellectual property rights. His experience includes prosecuting patents in electronics, software, biotechnology, and mechanical arts. He has also helped clients with trademarks, service marks, and domain name disputes and advised on data privacy and security regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA.
Raymond G. Areaux has litigated numerous intellectual property cases, including patent infringement claims against the U.S. government and disputes before the PTAB and TTAB. His expertise includes drafting organizational agreements and assisting with mergers, acquisitions, and venture capital arrangements. Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Areaux is an adjunct professor at Loyola University, sharing his knowledge of trademarks and privacy law with future legal professionals.
