Raymond C. Baldwin is an experienced litigator who advises and represents employers on a wide range of workplace legal issues. He focuses on helping management address risk, respond to disputes, and defend against serious employment claims in both trial and appellate courts.
Ray earned a BA, University of Maryland. He later received an MA from Georgetown University, Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service, National Security Studies, and a JD from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. His education supports his thoughtful and strategic approach to complex cases.
Ray defends employers against claims involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and breach of contract. He also handles matters involving restrictive covenants and non-competition issues. His work includes both defending and enforcing these agreements to protect business interests.
Ray has substantial experience with collective and class actions. He has represented employers in multiplaintiff discrimination suits and in cases arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage-and-hour laws. Ray is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland. He has appeared before the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the DC Circuit, as well as the US District Courts for the District of Columbia and the District of Maryland.
