Randy Micheletti

Randy Micheletti has spent more than a decade helping technology companies protect and strengthen their intellectual property rights. Licensed before the US Patent & Trademark Office since 2003, he works with businesses of many sizes, including startups building early-stage portfolios. His practice centers on developing intellectual property strategies that support long-term business growth and innovation.

Randy earned a B.A. in Chemistry from Augustana College in 1998. He later completed an M.S. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001. Randy then received his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent School of Law in 2009, where he graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif.

Randy focuses on intellectual property and patent law for technology-driven businesses. He regularly assists companies with building patent portfolios designed to protect valuable products and ideas. His work often involves guiding startups through legal challenges tied to growth, innovation, and competitive markets. Clients value his practical approach and commitment to supporting long-term business goals.

Randy also shares his legal knowledge through teaching and professional service. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law (IIT), where he teaches upper-level courses. In addition, he has worked as a Guardian ad Litem with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. His involvement with the Chicago-Kent College of Law Alumni Board, including serving as President, reflects his dedication to the legal community.

Randy Micheletti has earned recognition for his work in intellectual property law and startup representation. He received the 2023-2024 Super Lawyers Illinois honor for his contributions to the legal field. Along with his legal career, he remains active in the arts as a trumpet player performing with musical groups around the Chicago area.
