Rachel Ratton

Rachel Ratton is an attorney and counselor licensed to practice in Michigan since 2019. She concentrates her practice in areas shaped by community service and public interest law, offering compassionate representation to individuals and families across the state.

Ratton earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2019. She was awarded the Voice for Justice Public Interest Fellowship and was among the first students at the law school to complete a concentration in family law, demonstrating a clear commitment to advocacy from the outset of her legal career.

Before law school, Ratton earned dual degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Grand Valley State University. She gained hands-on experience through nonprofit internships—including one in Washington, D.C.—and a study abroad program in the United Kingdom. These experiences expanded her global perspective and strengthened her commitment to pursuing justice and serving others through a career in law.

While attending law school, Rachel interned and later served as a student staff attorney at the Salvation Army’s William Booth Legal Aid Clinic. There, she provided legal support to underserved populations, particularly in family law and civil matters. Her work helped address urgent legal needs for low-income Detroit residents.
