R. Scott Beach is a partner and leader in corporate and business law at Day Pitney LLP. He serves as chair of the Corporate and Business Law department and chair of the Family Office Practice group. He represents private equity investors, emerging growth companies, and family offices in business formation, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and joint ventures. He also advises clients on technology transactions, governance matters, and strategic business planning across many industries.
Scott earned his J.D., with Honors, from The George Washington University Law School, where he was a member of the George Washington Law Review and inducted into the National Order of the Coif. He earned his B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, from Emory University. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and is active in professional organizations, including the Connecticut Bar Association and the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Scott has guided clients through high-value transactions and complex investment structures throughout his career. He has helped family offices commit $100 million to alternative investment funds and form $20 million venture capital companies. He represented investors in a merger valued at more than $400 million and advised on the sale of a telecommunications company for over $600 million. He also supports fund sponsors in launching private equity, real estate, hedge, and fund-of-funds vehicles.
R. Scott Beach works closely with investment fund managers, executives, and board members to structure businesses that support long-term growth. He counsels principals on employment and equity compensation arrangements and advises tax-exempt organizations on governance and strategy. His clear guidance helps clients manage risk, protect investments, and complete transactions with confidence.
