R. Ryan Gadapee

R. Ryan Gadapee is an insurance lawyer and Shareholder, Director, Senior Vice President, and Treasurer at Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer PC, with offices in Burlington and Washington, DC. His practice focuses on domestic and international insurers and reinsurers, including captives, reciprocals, and risk retention groups. He advises clients on regulatory, legislative, transactional, corporate, policy, claims, and compliance matters across the insurance industry.

Ryan earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School, along with a Certificate in Dispute Resolution. He served as Head Notes Editor of the Vermont Law Review, president of the Moot Court Advisory Board, and a judicial extern for Judge Peter W. Hall. He also earned a B.S. in Forest Resources and Conservation from the University of Florida.

Ryan’s experience includes serving as general counsel of a Florida-based property insurer during its growth and expansion and working for a national carrier with responsibility for litigated claims arising from the 2004 and 2005 Florida hurricane seasons. He has worked on policy forms, underwriting manuals, claims handling and defense, corporate compliance, regulatory issues, and legislative matters affecting insurance organizations and risk programs.

He has held leadership roles with the Vermont Captive Insurance Association, including service on its Board of Directors and conference committees.
