Philip A. Byler is an accomplished attorney with over 40 years of legal experience, specializing in Title IX law, First Amendment cases, defamation, and complex litigation matters. A graduate of Harvard Law School (J.D.) and DePauw University (B.A. in History and Economics), Mr. Byler has demonstrated exceptional legal acumen throughout his career.

Mr. Byler began his career clerking for Judge John W. Peck on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, gaining invaluable experience in appellate law. Over the years, he has successfully argued and won numerous landmark cases. His victories include the historic Immuno A.G. v. Dr. Jan Moor-Jankowski, where he achieved a pivotal ruling in constitutional law, and the $13 million verdict in Delshah Group LLC v. Atit Javeri, a federal securities bench trial.

Beyond his trial victories, Mr. Byler has a strong record in appellate litigation. He has helped secure key wins, including reversing discovery sanctions in AJ Holdings Group LLC v. IP Holdings LLC and unwinding a partnership conversion in Miller v. Ross. Known for his ability to navigate complex legal issues, he is a trusted appellate advocate for clients across a wide range of practice areas.

Mr. Byler’s dedication extends beyond the courtroom. He has been an active member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and the New York City Bar Association, serving on committees that advance professional standards and advocate for legal reform. His leadership includes chairing subcommittees focused on evidence rules and discovery in disciplinary proceedings.
