Peter R. Willis

Peter R. Willis is a highly respected criminal defense attorney with over 40 years of experience in criminal and civil litigation. Recognized as one of the top defense lawyers in New Jersey, he has successfully defended clients in some of the state’s most high-profile criminal cases. His expertise extends beyond state courts, as he has represented clients in federal cases across more than 20 states. Mr. Willis earned his undergraduate education from Hobart College and Upsala College. He then obtained his J.D. from Suffolk University, equipping him with the legal knowledge and analytical skills necessary to excel in criminal defense. In 1970, he was admitted to the New Jersey Bar, beginning his distinguished legal career.

Mr. Willis launched his legal career in 1970, partnering with Eugene Boffa to build a growing law firm that quickly expanded to five associates. In 1978, he co-founded Willis & Young, P.C., leading a dedicated team of three attorneys for more than 30 years. In 2012, he founded Peter R. Willis, Esquire, LLP, where he continues to deliver high-quality, client-focused legal representation backed by decades of experience.
